Razor Wire

Razor wire is a part of the fence wire systems, which are generally oval in shape and added to the fence systems installed around an area in order to ensure the security of that specific area. Its purpose is to maximize security and prevent jumping over the fence. Razor wire is widely used in various areas today, and its general uses are listed below.

It is preferred, especially in areas where barbed wire is insufficient and there is a high risk of trespassing. Razor wire does not stand out as having a cutting feature, it entangles individuals or other objects entering the prohibited area. In places where high security is required, razor wire is the best and safest option.

Areas of Use

Especially in cases where security is crucial;,razor wires are used in residential areas such as villas, building blocks, summer houses, and not limited to these locations only. They are also used in airports, ports, military institutions, industrial zones, energy production sites, border zones of countries, and high-security prisons, where high protection is required.

Types of Razor Wires

Razor wires, manufactured in line with areas of use and needs, can generally be divided into 4 groups.

1-) Concertina / Spiral Razor Wire
Concertina razor wire, mounted on places with heights of 45 cm (17 in), 60 cm (23 in), and 90 cm (35 in), consists of 0.5 mm (0.019 in) thin razor sheet with sharp edges. It is available in three forms: with raw materials galvanized, 430 grade stainless steel, and 304 grade stainless steel. The tube-shaped form, which is in a spiral shape and opens inwards and outwards, occupies more space, maximizing security. It is the product with the highest usability for tube post fencing.

2-) Flat Wrap Razor Wire
Flat wrap razor wires are not only aesthetically pleasing but also suitable for security purposes. It is a type of razor wire that meets the requirements. It can be applied to flat-post panel fences and wrought iron fences.

3-) Straight-Line Razor Wire
Straight-line razor wire, despite having a flatter and more flexible appearance compared to spiral razor wire, performs the same function in terms of purpose. There is almost no difference between the two except for the visual distinction. The spiral in straight-line razor wire is the same as in razor wire.
The raw material of straight-line razor wire is produced in three forms: galvanized, 430-grade stainless steel, and 304-grade stainless steel. Similarly, it is mounted in places with heights of 45 cm (17 in), 60 cm (23 in), and 90 cm (35 in). It has 0.5 mm (0.019 in) thin razor blades with sharp edges.

4-) Welded Razor Wire
Welded razor wires are different from other wires in terms of form and appearance. Welded razor wires have a more decorative look, adding an aesthetic element. Featuring an intermittent form, welded razor wires include small razors at their corners to prevent climbing.

Welded razor wire, available in green and gray color options, is painted with oven paint. The most common areas of use are sites, parks, and gardens. There is a small razor on each frame. It is commonly used in places with private property. The likelihood of breaking and bending is almost nonexistent, making it very difficult to overcome.
